Leader John Nye. Eleven Wheelers plus two guests rode out of Watton on the Walkern Road taking High Elms Lane to Burns Green and Whempstead before descending into Dane End. Fortunately the defibrillator(situated in the old red telephone box by the forge) was not required and we proceeded via Levens Green to Puckeridge.

Taking the Braughing road we proceeded  toward  Patient End but turned south along a very quiet lane passing Albury Hall to Allbury  and then on to Clapgate and into Little Hadham.

After what seemed like an age at the traffic lights over the A120 brisk progress was made to  Much Hadham where we stopped at the Old Forge and museum for hot drinks and cakes.

Return was through Kettle Green and Barwick where some brave souls ventured through the ford and then up to Potters Green before turning to Sacombe green and then down the steep descent passed the church into Sacombe.

Back to Watton now by Dane End, Whempstead and Mill Lane covering 31 miles, and  in time for lunch.
